Job Application - Bench Jeweller

Part-time - 3 days per week

Starting salary: £27,450 per annum for 3days per week incl. holiday and sick pay. (£22 per/hour)

Optional PAYE salary including pension after trial period

Part one

  • Photos of three pieces of work you have made that show the breadth of your skillset. Please state if any elements or processes were not done by you, ie: stone setting, polishing.
  • Links to a website or social media for your work where we might see more examples if needed.
  • A list of your professional jewellery making experience with dates for each. Also any jewellery making qualifications/education/apprenticeship that you have completed. 

     

Part two

Within the same email please type your answers to the following questions numbered as they are here:

  • ONE Why do you want to work for a small company and what challenges do you think that could bring?
  • TWO What do you enjoy most about jewellery making? What do you think you would enjoy most about working with us?
  • THREE What experience do you have that you think makes you most suitable for this role and what did you learn there?
  • FOUR How does working a three day week fit in with your other commitments? What else do you do?

I have designed a blind application process so it is important that everyone follows the same format as described above. All answers to questions and pictures of work will we reviewed separately to remove any unconscious bias that might occur. If your work is exceptional, I won’t be swayed by lack of fancy experience. If you’re my mates sister and we had a pint one time, I won’t know, you’ll be judged on your skills only. 

Successful applicants will be asked to come for an in person interview. Following that we will hold a limited number of paid practical workshop trial shifts.
