Oscar Wilde described opals as being like 'broken rainbows' and I have never found a better explanation. This pair of earrings is physical manifestation of this description and a dripping fantasy pigeon shit from my Wildest (excuse the pun) dreams. From solid gold manicured silver claw cuffs hangs a huge ethereal opal teardrop containing the whole broken rainbow and more. From the other drips a hand beaded cluster the same colours trailing gold chains hung with a huge yellow sapphire and a ruby droplets. Dramatic as they are playful, for day or evening.
Clip sprung earring backs so no need for fiddly butterflies. For pierced ears.
Ethiopian opal care instruction: This stone is slightly absorbent so needs to avoid dirty water, oils and perfumes. If left submerged in clean water it may go clear but a will dry out again after. The setting has been designed to protect the stone from body contact for this reason.
